Happy New Year Everyone!

Time flies when you are busy! (and having fun!) I successfully finished my first semester teaching violin, viola and music appreciation at University of Wisconsin – Platteville. I really enjoyed teaching music to an audience that might not normally consider attending a live musical performance. Currently I’m still on break from the two colleges and am preparing for spring semester.

The latest race I participated in was a 7-mile run, the Living History Farms Off-Road Race, the biggest cross-country race in North America! It was a blast running with two friends through streams, up muddy cliffs and by cheering crowds. I made sure to wear my special cape for good luck!

In December I adopted a new family member. A new viola joined my instrument collection. Violin and Viola are already getting along like best buds. I debuted with the viola December 8th in a string quartet and it was quite the rush!

Snow! I love snow. I have enjoyed playing in it with my housemates, lots of skiing (I’m doing a 35k in February) and the natural beauty of it. May we get colder temperatures and a fresh layer soon.

May peace and joy continue to be with you throughout the bleaker winter months.

Oct. 2007

Boo! I hope this month finds you all in comfy sweaters and enjoying the beautiful changing leaves. I've mostly been running, or should I say driving and putting loads of miles on my car, from orchestra to orchestra without a break. It is a fun challenge and great to see old colleagues but quite tiring. I just want a weekend without work! It should happen in a couple weekends. :) And between the three orchestras I play in I will have performed 3 out of 4 of Brahms' symphonies! Love that guy.
My triathlon (canoeing, biking, running) went really well. I felt good about it and ended up third in my age division (and received a paddle pen medal- hehehe). I wish they had more of this type of triathlon. For now though I need to keep resting my shins.
Many of you have asked me about America's Hot Musician. Well, I know about as much as you. If you check their website (link below), you can read the latest news articles on the lawsuit with the Oxygen network. (It's on the left side of their page.) They have e-mailed us and said once this fire is put out they will air the episodes (for real) on television and thus show more than just the "First Round". More has been shot so stay tuned in.
"With the cats and bats and spooky things, pumpkins will shine!" (an old Halloween song my mom used to sing to me)

Happy Halloween!

Sept. 07
Greetings Everyone! A lot has happened in August. After returning safely from my trip to Argentina and Uruguay I went back to D.C. to shoot more for the reality TV show. Then I finally got settled in a new house with new housemates in my favorite city, Madison. Living in a house with two musicians is fantastic. I'm inspired to make music more, watch more Seinfeld and play more Scrabble! I've decided to return to the two canoe triathlons I did last year and have been playing Ultimate Frisbee as usual. I'm back into the swing of teaching again too and love it! Mondays I'm at  UW-Platteville teaching 7 violin/viola students and a THREE hour music appreciation class where I prance about the room trying to get others to understand and share in my passion of music. Tuesdays and Wednesdays I teach in Madison 12 violin students and Thursdays and Fridays I'm at Beloit College teaching 8 violin/viola students and a string jazz improvisation class. In my free time (ha.) I'm playing with Green Bay Symphony,
Dubuque Symphony and the Gadjo Players. Happy September!
